Small Groups - Church in its purest form!
Small Groups can be a matter of contention. Are they needed within our context? Do they really make a difference? At the end of the day, are they all that - do they deliver? Ultimately no program can deliver on its own. At the end of the day it's about people and their hearts. Here's what I've discovered and seen happen over and over again - get a group of people in a small enough group - have them commit to growing in relationship with one another and in Christlikeness - facilitate this process and you'll find discover Church as it's meant to be - Church as you read about it in God's Word. And that's our prayer, our desire and our plans for small groups at Richview Baptist Church.
Posted by ed | TrackBackI'm in a small group and it took 3 meetings for our group to form a personality of its own which was pretty fast. Now we're not only praying for each other but took up an offering to meet this friend of one of our group members need. One girl broke down crying in prayer on the third night because of stress and our group melted towards each other which was pretty cool.
Posted by: TrishTrish, that's cool stuff - yesterday we heard several stories like that - it's really cool to see it happen when people commit to it!
Thanks for sharing
