What do you say?

Lucas has been a little bit of a handful. Acting out, talking back etc. There's one little boy that every other parent dreads that Lucas has decided to be friends with and the two of them are always getting in trouble.

This past weekend Lucas was invited to a birthday party, while there the birthday boy and Lucas got into a tiff, where the two of them decided they were no longer each other's friends...the status of their friendship changed, Lucas thought the right thing to do was to take back the present he had taken to the party.

Last night Lucas went to kidz klub...our kids program. He's invited several of his friends to it. And they've come. Only one problem...he's really misbehaving. Even right before me, it seems to make no difference. Anyway, last night we got home and we had a talk.

While we were talking Lucas found it necessary to interrupt me and talk back to me...at which point I think, for the first time ever, I raised my voice significantly as I talked to him, it was hard to see him in tears as I knew his heart was being broken. He went to bed after that.

But I'm not just trying to fill you in on this stuff...at Kidz Klub the kids made prayer boxes. They painted these boxes and then wrote out prayers for whomever they wanted. Whe Lucas went to bed I looked in his prayer box. What I saw nearly brought me to tears. There on his first prayer sheet was the name of the boy from the party as well as the name of the boy that he's been getting in trouble with. I keep saying God keeps teaching me through my son...well, last line he spoke to me again.

Finally, to make it a great evening when Vun went to tuck him into bed...he asked her if I could tuck him in instead. Which I did and which made him feel like everythign was ok in his world.

I love my son!
