All of us made it back safe and sound! All kids accounted for. No more incidents of kids sneaking out.
All in all we had a great vacation. It was a little weird as we packed everything up after the first weekend, came back to Port last weekend for Canal Days, went back and moved to a new site, set everything up again (a much nicer site by the way), packed everything up again to come home, and set everything up when we got home, so we could get the stuff out of the camper. Gets me tired just thinking about it.
The thing about camping is that it can be pretty tiring. With us, just packing for the beach each day can wear you out. Although our site, for the second week, was directly across from the beach. We crossed the road and we entered the beach, that was nice. Although there were no waves the second week, severely dampening the kids (especially Lucas') excitement about going to the beach.
Weather couldn't have been better (no rain to speak of). Company was great (Vun and I usually camp with both our sets of parents - normally that would spell murder in most cases - we have it good!).
We had a few interesting sailing (or lack thereof) adventures.
Although we were surrounded by poison ivy everywhere, only Vania got it. Which is kind of funny since she was the one most "aware" of it the whole time. Anyway, being very good, Vania didn't scratch and was all better just a week later.
Saw lots of snakes and all other sorts of bugs. The flies were insane the second week! But eh, everybody's got a right to camp.
Got lots of pictures, lots of video which will eventually show up on the site.
Now that we're back, we're jumping right in to what promises to be a very busy August and September.
