Learning to do some fun things with photoshop. Will probably create one of these for each of our kids. This is easier than it looks.
If you want details on how to do this in photoshop, I can probably help.
Having said that, simply put, you set up your camera on a tripod to a smaller f/stop, f/16 and up. You don't want your camera to move and you don't want to zoom in and out or you'll mess up the background. Then you get your subject to move around and you take pictures, lots of pictures.
Next you import all your pictures into Photoshop and set them all up as individual layers in one file.
For each of the layers you have to add a layer mask. And then you use the eraser and the brush to remove/reveal what you want. This is a little more complicated than it sounds, but lots of good tutorials online. And practice makes perfect.
If you want more details I can probably help.
Posted by edI have photoshop 5.0 and I have yet to figure it out! (mainly because I have noooo time!).
That picture looks really cool though! I'm still figuring out how to change a photo to black and white, then color on a certain item in the picture! LOL
Whenever you have a question, give me a shout - if I don't know how to do it, I'll figure it out.
I've found that no matter how much you learn Photoshop, there's way more to learn.
Like I said, when you have the time and you want to lay with it, if I can help, I will.
Posted by: edThis technique can be used to create a lot of different moods from playful to moody ... digital is such a cheap media to play and learn!
Posted by: IanEddie! I love this picture--it's so cool!!! I think it's too complicated for me to try to figure out... I'm looking forward to seeing the ones you create for the other kids. Hope everyone's doing well. Say hello to Vun for me, okay? Hope she had a great day yesterday...

Great photo and great idea.
I just have to get a decent tripod.
What tripod do you use?
Give Vania my love. How's the pregnancy going?
Hope to call one day soon.
Ian: yes, and fun too...but I'm finding I'm having to spend time giving up other stuff in order to spend the time to learn it. But the results are rewarding.
Raquel, it's not as complicated as it looks. And I'll say hi to Vania. Only three weeks to go and the baby seems to be ready to claw his way out. literally. The belly won't stay still for a second. She's ready too.
Glau: Absolutely on the decent tripod. I was dumb and picked up a cheap one thinking it would be fine. It's not, I still get a lot of shake in many shots. So, lesson learned, wait until you can afford the more expensive sturdy ones!!!
